In this episode we sit down with Anya Gallaccio. She is an artist as well as a professor at UCSD. Her work has been exhibited in galleries all over the world, most recently in Sydney, Australia. I’ve personally had the pleasure of working with her on several projects, a few of which we discuss during the episode.

One moment that stood out to me was when Anya recalled her own experiences of living and working in London. At the time her network of artist friends would self-organize to host informal gallery exhibitions. I think this speaks to the possibility of creating alternative models that support artists without relying on commercial success or client work to make a living.

Enjoy the episode!
